Holidays! Holidays!

How was your holiday celebration?

I bet not all got to enjoy an exciting one. But, that is not always requirement for the holiday season, isn't it? I don't want to make it one, lest I want a good reason to be disappointed over some teeny weeny detail that may or may not spell excitement.

Well, I like thinking about holidays, so I posted some International holidays for January. Not all of these holidays are celebrated by everyone, but, it's good to know that such days do exist.

Global Family Day
January-1

Aside from it being the New Year's Day, it is also the Global Family Day. (One Day of Peace and Sharing Every January First) grew out of the United Nations millennium celebration, "One Day of Peace," January 1, 2000.

World Braille Day
January-4

Birthday of Louis Braille, the man who invented the system that helps blind people read and write. International (World) Braille Day recognizes how Louis Braille has revolutionized the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired.

International Thank-You Day
January-11

International Thank You Day is the ideal opportunity to recognize and demonstrate the extent of your gratefulness to the people who make your days what they are.

World Leprosy Day
January-30

Since 1954, World Leprosy Day has been observed around the world in an effort to encourage to provide compassion, courage, cure and the opportunity for a better life to those affected by this terrible disease through prayer and support.
